Assess amended or new maintenance plans to confirm whether they will, if adhered to, keep the subsystem compliant with mandatory requirements for their whole life.5. Check the construction of infrastructure sub-systems and associated equipment for conformance with the accepted design, including witnessing testing.6. Prepare submissions to external approval bodies on behalf of customers.7. Provide advice to customers and stakeholders on conformance assessment, certification and associated regulations (such as Interoperability, Common Safety Methods and Entities in Charge of Maintenance).8. Carry out technical investigations, as required, checking that they do not compromise certification independence.

Primarily concerned with the renewal of degraded assets and Route enhancements, I am responsible for surveying signalling assets and contributing to the control period business plan, after which I write various specifications to allow work to commence. Core duties include determining renewals requirements and developing allocated signal engineering renewals and incremental enhancement requirements. I produce specifications and acceptance criteria for signal engineering works to achieve the required scope and quality in accordance with company engineering policies.

Working on various resignalling projects, including on London Underground, Leeds 1st, Nottingham Robin Hood Line Resignalling (NET tram enabling works), and Horsham resignalling schemes.Chiefly responsible for stage and fringe works, duties would include planning meetings, surveying, planning of installations and testing strategy, issuing of drawings, tools and materials to up to twenty installation technicians, depending on the stage, ensuring work was carried out to appropriate standards and within agreed timescales, before handing over to test.Any test/installation logs would be closed out prior to the commissioning stage. This position also included spells at overseas resignalling projects in Greece and The Philippines, where I was primarily responsible for the installation, set up and test of audio frequency track circuits. Additional duties included those of testing Modules 5, 3C and SMTH testing.

Various grades of Signal Technician, working in the Glasgow Central area faults and maintenance department. Duties included routine servicing of a variety of signal equipment, annual services and maintenance testing. Also responsible for fault finding, repair, component replacement and minor renewals. Following these activities, maintenance testing would be carried out to ensure the equipment was fit to be signed back into service. All duties were carried out to Group and Company standards, rules and procedures.
