In my role I was involved in the organization, sale, and management of fresh, frozen, and dry goods. In addition to this role I fulfilled orders from guests and handled nightly deliveries of hundreds of boxes. I learned a lot working in the retail business. I enjoyed the prospect of the unknown and the challenge of learning new ways to do things. Whether that be the inventory system, interactions within a store of dozens of concurrently working employees, or simply creation of small muscle memories which are crucial for efficient completion of tasks in a fast paced environment.

As a employee at Five Guys, I obtained various interpersonal skillsets: communication with other employees, management, and customer interactions. I learned varying physical skillsets and positions, during my time there, ranging from fry cook, grill lead, register, and prep cook. Every time I learned a new position It kept my interest piqued and thus learning was my favorite of the job. By the time I had finished my time at Five Guys I had learned all the physical positions and had began work as a shift lead, where in I had some responsibilities higher than a standard employee, again sharpening my skillset in interpersonal skills. This included training, and organizing work through a shift.
