Responsible for managing engineering activities for the new Jeep Grand Cherokee

Responsible for all integration of Engine System components including fuel systems, exhaust, air induction, and powertrain cooling for the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

--Responsible for design release activities for all Chrysler engine cooling systems and components.--Manage group to ensure release, validation, and launch quality meet targeted goals.

--Responsible for Thermal System performance including engine cooling and climate control. --Lead a group of three engineers to improve quality, educe cost, and develop/release new thermal system components for new upcoming powertrains and interiors. --Manage cost, weight and investment for new model year programs. --Ensure all timing and program milestones are met for new model year programs including creation of DFMA, DVP&R, and release of optimized designs. --Define customer requirements and translate these customer voices into optimized designs using Design for Six Sigma (DFSS). --Current project defines required system capacity for heating and cooling vehicle occupants and optimizing those systems. --Led a team including engineering and purchasing in a 3 month long special assignment to find cost saving opportunities for air conditioning plumbing across all of Chrysler’s product lines. --Liaison for Chrysler’s global engineering office in Mexico which provides engineering support for current production. --Responsibilities include chairing weekly open issues meetings and approving any product or process changes, and aiding in any communication issues between the plant and the Mexico based engineering office.

--Supervised a group of five engineers responsible for interior, thermal, and powertrain components. --Engineering launch coordinator for model year changes. Chaired meetings with release engineering, program management, production control, and plant management to track changes timed for model year change over. --Interviewed and hired candidates for open positions within my group. --Completed employee performance appraisals and worked with my employees to complete career development plans. --Created group goals for each employee to incorporate into their own goals. Held staff meetings and individual folder reviews to track, communicate, and prioritize the group’s open issues. --Chaired launch open issues meeting with powertrain and interior systems to track new vehicle launch issues--Responsible for product change management through product evaluation trials (PER) and change notice implementation.--Certified Shainin Red X Blackbelt. This is a reactionary problem solving methodology.
