Currently, I am the Director of Pediatrics and Medical Director for Quality and Innovation for WellSpan Health. In this position, I oversee the delivery of pediatric care across multiple sites, facilities, and settings, including inpatient, outpatient, specialty, emergency, and urgent care. I also practice clinically as a pediatric hospitalist. Working closely under the Vice President of the Women and Children Service Line, I help develop the vision, strategy, and direction for pediatric care for the system. In my current role, I have been able to leverage the diversity of my previous experiences, from publishing bench research in genetics to working as a management and market research consultant prior to medical school. This has included, for example, group-level efforts to standardize care and to reduce vaccine costs, local-level projects involving quality and safety improvement, community-wide population health initiatives such as encouraging uptake of the COVID-19 vaccine among adolescents and teenagers, and the development of strategic partnerships. Concurrently, I am a graduate student in the MBA program at the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts, where I have achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA; my anticipated degree completion is Spring 2022, fifteen months after enrollment. In addition to representing WellSpan in the community as an advisor to schools, as a pediatric expert for print, television, and radio media, and as a pediatric health advocate to elected representatives, I remain active academically. I have published three scholarly articles in the past three years, and presented thirty times over the past five years at national conferences on topics including leadership, medical education, professional development, health literacy and inclusion, and clinical effectiveness. I hold national positions with the Society for Hospital Medicine and with the American Academy of Pediatrics, the latter as an executive member for the Value in Inpatient Pediatrics Network. I served previously with the American Board of Pediatrics where I helped determine the content of the inaugural Pediatric Hospitalist Medicine subspecialty certification exam. My uniqueness as a candidate stems not just from my background, but from what I have been able to accomplish thus far in my career. My rapid ascent through my prior organization and the amount of responsibility entrusted to me by WellSpan are demonstrations of my ability and dynamism as a leader.
