This setting was a Pupils Referral Unit. These pupils are in Years 9, 10 and 11. To the year 9 students I teach general science whilst taking them for sport in the afternoons. I teach GCSE Biology and general Science to Year 9.. I must ensure that all lessons meet the needs of the pupils. When planning lessons, I set clear plan as well as have different options for work as with the students they do not always interact with the work given to them. I am basing my application on my GCSE Biology as this is what I teach most of the week. I work with different colleagues every day. Are main aim being to provide a safe and inclusive learning environment for the pupils to learn in. We must communicate throughout the day as the needs of the pupils are high so situations may happen during the day which need dealt with by members of staff. I have to keep up to date with safeguarding and follow safeguarding procedures at all times.

• During the PGCE course, I worked in Knowsley Community College on placement which ran from November 2017 – June 2018. This was a 3 day a week placement which I was a trainee sports lecturer. The levels that I was teaching were BTEC level 1, level 2 and level 3 and HNC.• My specific duties and responsibilities included working with Level 1, 2 and 3 students throughout the year on their BTEC Diplomas in Sport. I taught level 3, Unit 12 Fitness independently. • I had to create a scheme of work to follow throughout the year. I also had to create and follow lesson plans for the unit which involved both theory and practical lessons. For this unit, I also had to create assignments for the learners to complete along with assignment briefs. This meant following the specification throughout lessons to ensure the learners hit the pass, merit and distinction criteria required. • I gained a 1 (Outstanding Teacher) overall for my teaching throughout the year.
