As a Business Program Manager, I managed the programmatic monetization relationship with AppNexus and AOL, generating over $200M in revenue. Based on each BGs level of data incorporation, I have either a light-touch relationship for the most sophisticated or a deeply engaged consultative role to guide the marketing team through the data journey.For marketers already using retargeting, site optimization, look-alike audiences, and audience building, I partner with them on new page tagging, cross-BG collaboration and other general "housekeeping" items.With BGs and marketers who are newer to leveraging DMP data, I work directly with them and our partners on the BlueKai account team to introduce them to the power of data in their campaigns and lifecycle marketing.I standardized the onboarding process into 4 phases designed to bring in the right team members at the right time to drive smooth planning and implementation. 1) Initial discovery, an essential step covering "What is a DMP?" and surfacing the BGs needs and goals 2) Technical implementation and taxonomy building, which is possibly the most important single piece of the process 3) Utilization best practices and training, as DMPs are more an art than science when building audiences 4) Data activation is the final step, where the marketers and agency teams build target audiences and the data is leveraged for site optimization, analytics, remessaging, retargeting, search, social and more.
