Chris has been a partner at BrownWinick since 1998 and a member of the firm's Management Committee since 2001. He has served as the firm's Managing Partner since 2007. Chris is actively involved in the firm’s Business and Corporate Law, Securities, Agribusiness, Green and Renewable Energy and Real Estate practice groups. He has been recognized by Chambers USA as one of the leading practitioners in Iowa in the areas of corporate/mergers and acquisitions and business law. Chris represents numerous and diverse clients in corporate/mergers and acquisitions, business and transactional matters, and green/renewable energy projects and assists with numerous other legal concerns. Some of the industries in which Chris is most active include advanced manufacturing, green/renewable energy (including ethanol, biodiesel, wind, solar and geothermal), real estate development/construction, publishing, commercial and consumer lending, agribusiness ventures, and franchising. Because many of his clients view him as both a business advisor and "general counsel” for all of their legal matters, Chris frequently works with other attorneys at BrownWinick to allow the firm to provide a full range of legal services.
