CurrentMy responsibilities as a CMA include answering daily phone calls and provide appropriate responses for inquiries from providers related to existing cases, procedures, members and provider status. I also create authorizations for past, current and/or future admissions or procedures. I collect faxes and insert information to existing cases, use online tools and software to extract clinical information needed to support existing or future cases and claims, with this information I also create new cases when the request is not present in the Metroplus database. Further, I help locate procedure (CPT) codes, patient diagnosis (ICD-9/10 Codes), report any changes on cases and update when needed. Lastly, I assist case managers in approving authorizations and ready process for payment.
