Joined the Bello Administration six months after Adam Bello took office. Managing the pandemic and executing the vaccine distribution has been Monroe County's main objective. Immediately, I, along with the HR team, hired hundreds of temporary employees both clinical and clerical to fight COVID-19. In 6 months, we tested tens of thousands of people for COVID-19 and provided hundreds of thousands of COVID-19 vaccines. Beyond the COVID response, I am part of the labor negotiation team. My main responsibility is providing detailed data analysis of the employee membership we are in negotiation with. Details ranging from salary, benefits, comparable data to similar unions or jurisdictions, etc. Main objective of 2021 will be to unpack and prepare the union salary schedules to raise the minimum wage in the County to $15.00.Additional duties include draft new or update policies, and update systems and processes within the Human Resources department.

Managed a staff of 4, overseeing the entire data systems of the Board. Responsible for accurately assign poll workers, voting machines and election day materials and safely deliver them for election day. This work ensures a smooth and accurate process for voters and safeguards election results. Restructured IS department to create a more collaborative working group, introducing cross-training for all staff in functions critical to the integrity of the election process. Through this, my team and I built a structurally nimbler and more responsive IS department able to response to changes from NYS government. Simplified and standardized numerous Board programs, from Poll worker management and training, election result canvassing, post-election auditing, voter machine maintenance, supply inventory, and a variety of publications and reports. Managed the operation of new software and hardware, from transitioning and training staff on software upgrades and the purchase and application of early voting and electronic poll books.

Managed Absentee Voter Program, ensuring staff properly entered voter information and promptly mailed ballots in compliance with state and federal law. Within six months in role, identified significant areas for improvement. With support of Commissioners, spearheaded an effort to implement new procedures that simplified and streamlined processes for the 2016 General Election. This work resulted in a reduction of overtime costs, all while issuing an historic number of ballots to voters. Directed by the Democratic Commissioner to study, organize, and map the Board’s vast databases with the intention to more fully comprehend the data, provide new insights into and improve Board processes. This led to lower material costs, a reduction in errors and increased speed in certifying election results. Piloted an Election Fellows program, a partnership between 7 area colleges and the Board of Elections. As primary liaison between colleges, fellows, and the Board, created program by which fellows recruited students and made sure they were trained, placed and worked on election day. Program recruited 14 fellows who in turn recruited over 200 students to be election day poll workers. The success of the program resulted in its renewal.

Primary function involved the use of a variety of data sources to provide statistical analysis for candidates, campaigns and the county party. Worked with Chairman and candidates to create consistent messaging through design of marketing materials for use in direct mail and door-to-door outreach. Led effort with leadership to coordinate schedule between campaigns, candidates, outside vendors, and staff to ensure upwards of 90 mail pieces representing over 370,000 individual pieces were sent out on time. Regularly acted as contact between MCDC and the media. Additional duties included event planning/staff, volunteer recruitment, committee development, fundraising.
