The Office of Technology Commercialization is responsible for the efficient transfer of university discoveries to the marketplace for the benefit of society. To that end, my role as a Licensing Assistant includes reviewing intellectual property submissions, evaluating the market potential for patent filed IP, developing marketing materials, and initiating relationships with potential licensees and partners.

As a team principal in Texas Venture Labs Leadership Practicum, I led and managed an interdisciplinary team of graduate students in performing business related projects for two local startups. My responsibilities included coordinating and guiding project work, interfacing with our client companies, and keeping the team on track to meet deadlines and deliver tangible results to our client companies. The project work done during the semester included market validation, competitive analysis, business plan assessment, and customer acquisition strategy. The results of which provided our client companies with data driven actionable recommendations to advance their respective businesses in both the short and long term.In addition to the project work, I was a part of weekly classes and round table discussions with a variety of Accenture employees, local business owners, and faculty at the University of Texas at Austin on topics ranging from startup law to managing client interactions.
