Chris's legal practice includes all areas of intellectual property, with an emphasis on patent litigation and Patent Office inter partes review proceedings. Chris has litigated dozens of patent, trademark, copyright, antitrust, and trade secret lawsuits ranging from small-scale disputes to multi-billion dollar suits. Chris is highly experienced in patent jury trials, having tried cases around the country, and has argued appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. His work has included all phases of pleadings, discovery (including depositions and working with experts), motion practice and argument, pre-trial, and trial. His cases have involved technologies as varied as medical devices, automotive components, GPS hardware, chemical products, advanced materials, food processing, and computer software. He also has experience litigating Lanham Act, unfair competition, false advertising, and antitrust disputes, and regularly counsels clients on trademark, design patent, and copyright matters, as well as patent matters relating to commercial agreements, including mergers and acquisitions or licensing negotiations.
