Kalibrate Technologies is a recognised global leader in fuel pricing solutions, location data and specialised business intelligence tools for over 300 fuel retailers in 68 countries worldwide.In my role as a QA Test Analyst, I was required to work with all IT Development teams, in order to translate high-level user requirements into estimates and understand functional requirements to ensure the end product meets the agreed scope and user’s needs. I was responsible for system testing via Agile Methodology and liaising with the business unit responsible regarding co-ordination of user testing ensuring appropriate information/documentation was communicated.My essential duties and responsibilities included the following:- Prepare and perform system testing of all agreed changes, enhancements and defects within a sprint and deliver testing via Agile and Scrum delivery methodology.- Attend sprint planning, daily stand ups, task grooming sessions, technical discussions and product demonstrations.- Attend regular meetings with the Requirements team to discuss acceptance criteria for user stories planned for sprint.- Estimate story points for sprints on behalf of QA.- Perform functionality testing on Kalibrate Mobile application using iOS and Android devices.- Solely test the development work of 4 Software Engineers, 1 DBA and 2 UX members.- Run test automation using TestComplete.- Query databases in SQL Server Management Studio.- Browser compatibility testing.- Setup environments and install QA applications using Jenkins builds.- Regression test each install of Kalibrate products for monthly releases.- Provide Second Line Support in order to investigate and resolve client escalated issues.- Manage test servers efficiency and data management.- Apply database and application patches.- Timely identification and raising of defects/bugs in JIRA.- Provide Formal UAT handover patches to clients.

Following my successful work for several Kuoni subsidiaries, I was appointed on a permanent basis as the Test Analyst / CMS Super User for the Outbound European division.Kuoni is the largest travel company in Switzerland and also one of the leading travel organizations in the world. It specialises in luxury and tailor-made holidays and employs over 7,500 staff in 300 offices worldwide. In this role, I was the primary contact and web support for the European E-Business/Marketing teams and the interface for the global IT support organization with regard to the CMS. As the UK member of the International Super User Team, I worked in close cooperation with colleagues based in Sweden and Switzerland; thus ensuring operational efficiency through task sharing as well as proving a continuous growth of the team’s expertise by contributing with knowledge and competences. I also supported the migration of websites into the company’s global CMS platform and ensured that synergies in function and design development for all areas were followed.In close cooperation with the Usability and Design Team, I was responsible for the definition of the specifications for front-end design and functions. By initiating workshops; creating guidelines/user guides; and, coordinating training regarding web issues, I made sure that CMS knowledge was shared throughout the organization.Additionally, I was responsible for the handling, validation and coordination of change requests from the local web teams as well as the technical search engine optimization of the global websites. Furthermore, I was heavily involved in writing test cases, testing new functionalities/bugs as well as carrying out weekly user acceptance, regression and responsive testing on numerous web environments and browsers.I was based within the company’s Manchester office and I was frequently required to work and attend meetings at the main offices in Surrey, Zurich and Stockholm.

After the completion of my University degree, I obtained a fixed-term contract of employment by the holiday company, Journeys of Distinction (JOD). The company is a subsidiary of the Kuoni UK Travel Group which specialises in luxury escorted tours to various parts of the world. A colleague and I were tasked to complete the migration process of the company’s website in line with the company rebrand. We subsequently created the Cross Media Publishing (CMP) structure and inputted the content. Next, we developed pages, forms, links and content spots within the CMS platform in conjunction with the CMP. Throughout this process, my colleague and I had the initial responsibility for arranging the design and content of the website which was successfully launched in accordance with the deadline.Following the successful launch of the JOD website, we received a recommendation to carry out the migration process for another Kuoni subsidiary – CV Travel. This company’s speciality is the provision of luxury villas and hotels worldwide. We were not required to relocate offices as we were able to maintain close and effective contact with the Systems Facility Manager (in terms of sharing our valuable knowledge and experience of the CMP and CMS platforms).With the knowledge and experience gained from the JOD and CV Travel contracts, I was able to enhance certain aspects of the JOD website. These included an improved front-end design, usability and search engine optimization.After the departure of my colleague, I was required to complete the migration process alone for Go Touring. The company was involved with the provision of budget escorted tours in various countries and again was part of the Kuoni Travel Group. As with the two previous companies, work had to be carried out within the CMP and CMS platforms. I was also required to take on a Project Management role for the launch of the website - in addition to maintaining and refreshing the current JOD site.

During my third year of University, I obtained the required annual industrial placement with ‘Amaze’.Amaze is an online solutions company and its user-focused approach ensures that they combine their clients’ business objectives with user requirements to deliver consultancy and solutions which innovate the way organizations use web technologies and deliver results.I was employed in the Managed Services Department which provides tailored solutions to operate applications for their clients, including data management and upload, content creation and management, user management and liaison and lastly process management.The position that I initially held within the Managed Services Department was to act as the Helpdesk Administrator for the whole team. I was given a new role as First Line Support which involved numerous duties such as liaising with high-end clients’. I was to act as an administrator for the team, producing reports for use by management; and, performing First Line Support and Service Coordinator duties. In addition, my job role demanded further knowledge of different websites and the way they operate; and, required me to liaise with different support teams to address various changes and incidents.
