I am a competent, reliable and hardworking individual. I currently work as Meal Advisor at M&M Food Market and have since 2019. I worked hard throughout Covid, and even despite the pandemic I kept my job and was able to take preventative measures to ensure that I never got sick from said virus, fortunately. I always do my absolute best to put safety above all else.In terms of education, I have an Ontario College Diploma from Fleming College for the Earth Resources Technician program which simply put is applied geology. I also recently graduated from Acadia University, having to step away and do a few courses while I worked during Covid, as I was unable to finish on campus due to financial situations. However in April of 2022, I successfully finished and graduated with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Geology with Biology as a minor. While studying I obtained skills like working in a laboratory setting through Biology, Chemistry, and Geology courses, along with analyzing and identifying several different rocks and minerals both in hand samples and in slides via microscopes. I also observed cells and microbial life on the biology side of things. Other skills I learned involved testing the integrity of concrete and plastic limits, along with limited taxidermy, identification of mammals, reptiles, birds, and fish, and discerning the geological age of rocks and timeline of geological events from a geological cross-section found on the surface or in a theoretical stand point.In terms of work, like I said previously, I have worked with M&M Food Market for the past 3 and a half years and have received plenty of experience with dealing with customers and the public, problem solving when issues arise, especially with Covid and certain policies coming into play dealing with food returns.I did have one job related to my field. In the summer of 2014, I spent my Co-op for College with the Bancroft & District Chamber of Commerce acting as a Geology Tourism Assistant, where myself and my superior guided tourists to several different locations in the area that was so teeming with minerals and crystals at the surface, that you could just dig them out of the soil. We would educate them in the history of the area in a geological sense and assist them in identifying the minerals they found. Then when tours were not planned for the day, we would go out and visit the many businesses that were associated or partnered with the Chamber and would promote their shops with photos we took via the Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.
