Led the development and implementation of a business plan, which took Unistel from a $592,000 deficit to a break-even point in eight months through revenue growth and increased efficiencies. Facilitated a Day Treatment restructuring which reduced layers in the program to three. Led the doubling of individual community placements in one year. Implemented cost savings that allowed CDS to increase entry level salaries by 10% across the board. Led the development of the agency’s leadership training program. Led the development and funding of a certificate program in Supporting People with Autism at the Strong Center for Developmental Disabilities. Led up to 340 staff at 28 facilities during tenor.

Increased Article 16 clinic utilization from 64% to 99% after one year of leading it. Produced revenues in excess of expenses, which were at least 22% greater than budgeted for four straight years. Established 23 self-managed teams. Developed a self-managing team organizational structure which was selected by the Office of Mental Retardation/Developmental Disabilities for a “Search for Excellence” study. The organizational structure allowed us to increase direct support hourly rates by 12% and dramatically reduced turnover. Increased meaningful learning opportunities in day service programs by 322%. Created and developed a graduate certificate program in developmental disabilities at the University of Rochester, which provides graduate level training to staff at several regional agencies. Created, led the development, and co-authored Fundamental Solutions a proactive behavior management training program that has been used to train staff from eight agencies throughout Western New York. Led staff in the reduction of the use of personal restrictive interventions by 87.5%.
