I oversee the entire accounting processes for 5 large malls across the United States. I prepare monthly financial analysis, and construct quarterly forecasts along with annual budgets for operational accounts, tenant rents, overage, and property and gross receipt taxes. I reconcile monthly bad debt and generate reports for distribution to field personnel. I assist internal personnel with reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting financial results. I perform quarterly real estate tax reconciliations and update real estate tax ratios based on monthly transmittals. I perform monthly reconciliations for accounts payable and receivables, work in progress, miscellaneous general ledger items, and redistribution for electricity, water, and central plant. Furthermore I have assisted management in training new personnel.

I created monthly paid out reporting for District Vice Presidents. I worked with field agents to answer questions regarding profit and loss statements using ad hock analysis in the general ledger. I managed the monthly period close process for store operation and loss prevention accounts and constructed sales and payroll reports. I updated binders for board meetings for executive vice presidents' reference. I created and distributed monthly plan comparison and trend reports to Divisional Vice Presidents.

While attending classes at the University of Mississippi I worked at the AutoZone retail store in Oxford, MS. I operated the cash register, installed various automotive parts on customer vehicles, unloaded delivery trucks, stocked the store, and gave customers the outstanding assistance that they came to AutoZone for. Working at the store for almost 3 years proved to be the best way to understand AutoZone's values, and see for myself why AutoZone is the industry leader in Auto Part Retail.

I interned for a second summer at AutoZone Corporate Headquarter as a Commercial Finance/Store Operations Intern. I worked on many projects that heavily involved Microsoft Excel, problem solving, and teamwork. I allocated warranty and janitorial expenses, and created new period close files that can be updated automatically using various formulas in Excel.

During my first internship at the AutoZone Store Support Center (Global Headquarter) I learned how to use many important tools, such as Microsoft Excel, Peoplesoft, and RocketShuttle Query Manager. During my internship I updated 6 different period close journal entry files, I completed a project that created the journal entry for AutoZone's new "Ask an Expert" feature that can be periodically updated, and I allocated over $3,000,000 in expenses to the correct ledger accounts. In addition I processed invoices, check deposits, check requests, and performed procurement card recons.
