As an R&D engineer my work involves developing specialised, custom built solutions to niche market demands. Usually this entails implementing embedded systems for real-time control, monitoring and conditioning purposes. My role is a varied one that demands a wide range of technical skills through project life-cycles, from initial requirements capturing, to design and prototyping, to verification and validation. Key skills however include PCB design, embedded software development, system testing and targeted research.Secondary responsibilities include travelling to customer businesses to provide updates/maintenance against our products. I also assist company leadership in business meetings as a representative of the engineering team, answering customer or partner queries, providing feedback/suggestions and gathering information about the road map for projects.
