How I came to start Seamless Building Systems. I’ve been in the roofing products distribution business for the past 23 years. During my tenure, I traveled the country to see the newest products and technologies that roofing contractors used. I was so impressed with some of the more innovative and forward-looking products that I introduced them to our contractors in the Wisconsin market. Unfortunately, there was little interest in the ideas and products I was showing them. Because I still felt passionate about what these products could do for our industry, I decided to start my own company, Seamless Building Systems (SBS). Are you aware that most commercial roofs do not need to be torn off? Over 60% of roof systems get scrapped long before they need to. This does two things: it costs the building owner a lot of money that he could be spending somewhere else with his property, and way too much roofing waste ends up in our landfills. These two concepts were the motivation for the creation of SBS. Our mission is simple, to look for every solution that we have in our arsenal to repair, restore or use other technology to extend the life of a roof. Only after we’ve looked at every opportunity to repair, we may determine that because of degradation or the owner's desire to add insulation that there is no alternative but for us to replace the roof.
