Lineman Apprentice
CurrentIBEW 4th period apprentice with over 3,000 hours of powerline construction including 350 hours of energized work. Proficient climber. Class B CDL. Certified in First aid, CPR, AED, Pole top and bucket rescue. Transmission experience consists of 15 months of 115kv and 345kv de-energized and live line/barehand procedure for tangent and dead-end structure changeouts. Performed aerial and ground operations for both voltages although 345kv was strictly utilizing insulated line tools, aka hot sticks, for aerial work. Tasks included installing master and personal grounds to ensure an equipotential zone, adhering to proper insulate and isolate procedures, maintaining minimum approach distance, ground framing wood and steel poles, assembling steel poles, digging with heavy equipment, setting poles, installing crossarms using a crane, hot sticking, installing armor rod and various other hardware, utilizing a chainsaw to cut down old structures, proper rigging with hoists, grips, shackles, and straps, inspecting, testing and properly maintaining live-line tools including insulator bells, handlines, and hot sticks, installed lightning arrestors on a 115kv circuit from a climbing position while de-energized and utilized hot sticks from a climbing position while line was energized. Operated four-section-boom Altec utility truck.Completed an 18 mile fiber optic wire pull from Keene to Stoddard NH while working in conjunction with helicopter assets. Set up and assisted in operation of wire puller and tensioner.Successfully rigged for crane operations on a daily basis. Occaisionally operated a skidsteer and digger derrick. Distribution experience consists of 9 months of single phase and three phase overhead construction as well as underground residential distribution, and storm restoration on predominantly grounded wye circuits.
