I work alongside the investors at Baillie Gifford to best support our private portfolio companies. My focus is on supporting our companies to favourably impact their transition to public company readiness by identifying and meeting their needs in areas where Baillie Gifford can help in addition to providing long-term capital.By way of background, I am corporate lawyer and spent a decade working in private practice engaged in mergers and acquisitions based in Edinburgh and London before joining Baillie Gifford in 2016 as the first employee to exclusively support the firm's private companies investment business.In parallel to providing legal advice to the investors on private company investments, I worked to build Baillie Gifford’s internal infrastructure, governance and policies for investing in private companies. I also supported the firm’s development of new fund structures to allow a wide range of clients to access the universe of high growth private companies.
