I am a currently practiced Registered Practical Nurse in Ontario Canada. My specialty has been Pediatrics so far and I am now bordering three years of experience. In the last six months I have also taken on the role as one of the clinic team-leads, where I manage the patient-flow and day-to-day operations of the clinic. This includes filtering through appointments and re-directing patients to the emergency department, managing all clinic supplies and ordering as necessary, supporting the clinic staff and ensuring that the clinic is staff appropriately.Together at this clinic we have provided medical services to over 24,000 patients in the last year alone. On average we see 60+ patients a day (about 1800 a month) with our small but tight-knit team.I graduated from the Algonquin College Practical Nursing program in the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and I began working as a practical nurse in 2020. I supported the Children's Hospital and the City of Ottawa by providing COVID-19 testing services as well as rapid medical assessments on sick children.Going forward, I am returning to school and further my education in the technology field. My aim is to eventually return to the medical field to combine my current extensive knowledge with newly gained experience in IT, to provide technological support in clinical settings.
