Directs, supervises, and coordinates functions and activities, operations, policies and procedures, and processes related to ULPS services. Serves as the lead for all financial related activities for ULPS Clinics and responsible for such duties as accounting, accounts receivable.• Plans, organizes, implements, and coordinates Finance operations for the ULPS Clinics to meet corporate and division goals and objectives.• Maintains and develops a competent, productive, and quality conscious workforce.• Promotes, maintains, demonstrates, and communicates the value of self-development and enhancement of the professional competency of the staff through Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) activities and other educational opportunities.• Manages and directs the financial processes for all ULPS Clinics.• Manages and directs the process necessary to timely close out the monthly and annual Financial Statements.• Plans, organizes, and coordinates the completion of the any annual reports.• Plans, implements, and coordinates the financial operations of the ULPS Clinics including the preparation and monitoring of the budget and assisting leaders in the development of long range plans.• Plans, organizes, develops, and completes projects using analytical techniques for Physician Services.• Establishes operating policies and procedures that affect organizational units. Interprets, executes, and recommends modification to organizational policies.

Responsible for the financial management for Children’s Foundation Research Institute (CFRI) including by not limited to: maintains related accounts, prepares operational and capital budgets, creates and implements financial reporting, identifies areas for operational improvement and implements action plans for resolution and participates in the development and implementation of long and short-range strategic plans. • Develops budgets for clinical trials, grants and laboratory operation through negotiation and feasibility studies based on input from key stakeholders.• Directs collection and billing in accordance to policies and procedures for clinical trials and other billable activities through CFRI’s compliance regulations• Oversees laboratory activities and operations; monitors operations to ensure standards and objective are being met; manages and reviews laboratory procedures for proper chemical disposal, proper shipment procedures and other good laboratory practices (GLPS); develops and monitors expense budgets for assigned laboratory.• Reviews and monitors safety documentation, plans and procedures for all of CFRI including the research laboratory, Pediatric Clinical Unit and other research related areas.• Contributes to hiring, developing, and retaining a competent, productive, and quality conscious staff.• Produces financial updates for annual reports related to continuing grants, such as, IRS filings (e.g. 990) and cost reports. • Serves as a resource and/or consultant to both management and investigators to promote an understanding of services provided from a business perspective.• Analyzes reports on trends and key indicators utilizing data from multiple business systems such as, CTMS and SAP.• Prepares and reviews various financial models, projections, and ad-hoc projects.• Researches and incorporates best practices to drive change and support initiatives for lowering costs and optimizing efficiency.

Plans, organizes, implements, and controls laboratory activities and operations at assigned facility; monitors operations to ensure standards and objectives are being met; develops and implements limited or short-term plans to keep operations moving smoothly. • Manages the activities of professional Associates and Students; monitors Associates performance and clarifies work expectations, and assists with goal setting; promotes cooperation among individuals and groups. Develops and implements processes through orientation, training and education to ensure that the competence of all staff members is assessed, maintained, improved and demonstrated throughout their employment.•Develops and monitors expense budgets in assigned laboratory area, authorizes expenditures. Assists in the development and implementation of capital budget and plans to control costs and improve department operations.• Develops and maintains performance standards to include quality assessment/improvement programs. Develops and recommends procedures to improve operational efficiency and quality of service provided.• Investigates trends and developments in laboratory practice; introduces new procedures.• Ensures compliance with organizational policies for the laboratory. Interprets, executes, and recommends policy modifications.• Provides leadership for educational programs for students and staff in collaboration with the laboratory administrative team. • Advances the profession through participation in professional organizations, and completes the required continuous training and education to include department specific requirements.• Ensures good working relationships between departments; serves as a resource and liaison with physicians for advanced problem solving related to laboratory services.• Daily contact with pathologists, physicians, physician's staff, and professional colleagues, often for the purpose of coordinating activities or resolving problems.
