I am a MSc Social Work student who holds more than 13 years experience in supporting families and safeguarding vulnerable individuals. I am focussed whilst understanding the need to remain flexible. I would be a great asset because I love being a part of a supportive workforce who promotes achievement and equality. Discovering and developing new skills is a key passion, particularly in learning and the family environments.My previous work experience has given me the opportunity to work in many different environments, with people from diverse backgrounds. These include children, gypsy travellers, individuals with distinct SEN needs and single parents as vulnerable adults. Through my various job roles, I have gained experience in working in schools, ecumenical partnerships and charities; encountering qualified social workers, educational psychologists, and managers alike. I also hold extensive voluntary experience, most notably as a Samaritan Listener for 3 years. Through this I have learnt to listen with empathy, uphold confidentiality and promote a persons right to choice. These experiences have now given me valuable insight into the aims, values and ethics of social care.
