Legal Cashier, Johns Gilbert & Frankton Llp. Rugby 1 April 2019 – 31 October 2019The role included: -• An understanding of, and compliance with the Solicitors Regulatory Authority (SRA) Rules particularly the treatment of Client funds• Processing of Fees, Costs and Disbursements on live Matters on both the Client and Office accounts• Responding to both manual and electronic Slips on both Client and Office• Completing all flows of monies with regard to Deposits, On Account payments, Purchase and Sale proceeds, Estate Agent’s Commission, SDLT and other conveyancing related payments • Weekly Bank Reconciliation of Client and Office Bank Accounts, including Partner sign off in accordance with SRA Rules• Weekly Cashflow monitoring• Generating Weekly Client to Office Transfers lists and making the Transfers as authorised by the respective Fee Earner and Partner Sign-off, again in accordance with SRA Rules• Producing various reports for Partners’ meetings including Bill listings by Fee Earner and other ad hoc reports as required• Transferring the accounting software from the legacy system Millennium to Proclaim in order to be “Making Tax Digital”(MTD) compliant • Balance sheet and Nominal Ledger reconciliations• Payroll and Partner’s Drawings, including employee PAYE, NI and Workplace Pension calculations checking and the timely payment thereof • Month End and Year processes• Quarterly VAT returns and payments• Petty Cash, including the introduction of Imprest Petty Cash accounting. Following the successful transition to Proclaim Finance the role ended when the Partners decided to outsource the Cashier function.
