Assume a leadership role in planning, organizing, directing, and managing the daily operations of the documentation, classification, and compensation as well as the benefits programs. Responsible and accountable for managing all related activities for the various union and non-union employee groups including classification of positions, administration of salary plans, benefits, leaves, group insurance plans, pension plans, employee and related file management and generation and analyses of related data and reports. Acts as a resource person for clients on matters related to documentation, classification, compensation, and benefits and ensure that all related activities are carried out in accordance with the applicable terms and conditions of employment, policies, and procedures and all applicable legislation.

Provide expert consulting services, representation, support and advice for complex labour and employment-related matters including, the interpretation and application of collective agreements, policies and procedures, collective bargaining, grievance handling and resolution, mediation and arbitration, conflict investigation and resolution, disability and attendance management, discipline and performance management. Lead and/or actively participate in corporate and various departments’ projects that have employment law and labour relations components and impacts.

Provide consulting services, representation, support and advice for complex labour and employment related matters including, the interpretation and application of collective agreements, policies and procedures, collective bargaining, grievance handling and resolution, mediation and arbitration, conflict investigation and resolution, disability and attendance management, discipline and performance management.

Provide timely Labour Relations responses to inquiries within the terms of the collective agreements and the Canada Labour Code; Advise management of potential disruptive issues which may arise as a result of grievances and/or arbitrations and make recommendations for resolution; Identify, develop and recommend solutions to problems arising from the administration of the collective agreements and labour regulations; Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with union representatives in order to support a positive labour relations environment;Document and monitor activities and maintain an efficient filing system for retention of documentation and information for future reference; Participate and/or lead formal and informal resolution processes, such as arbitration, mediation and facilitation.

Promote various financial programs for young entrepreneurs; Advise starting business on various aspect of managing finances and human resources; Encourage entrepreneurship in youth in the community.

Supervision, evaluation and coordination of Youth Service Officers and SCCY activities (2010-2011); Information sessions (Employment Standards, Health and Safety, Employment Assistance, Education, etc.); Assistance in job search (students) and recruitment of employees (employers); Group or individual consultation on training and work
