- Providing consultancy, advice and recommendations to both the public and private sector regarding local and EU funding programmes, especially research and innovation funding- Handling funding application processes on behalf of entities, including businesses, organisations, government authorities- Giving training to colleagues and third parties on funding- Networking with local and foreign clients and stakeholders in order to reduce fragmentation, enhance the R&I infrastructure and increase clientele- Remaining updated on the national, regional and global political and economic climates

- Management of a number of local, bilateral and multilateral funding programmes (incl. EU, Horizon 2020, ERA-NET)- Representing Malta in a number of national and international fora and organisations (incl. Council of the EU Working Parties, EU-CELAC, JPI Oceans) in Brussels and Treviso- Issuing Instruction Notes for important high-level meetings, outlining Malta’s official position- Working together with the Policy Unit to draft official national policies- Matchmaking Maltese researchers, innovators and scientists with their foreign counterparts for collaboration on international projects- Establishing, maintaining and communicating with a network of local and foreign stakeholders- Compilation and drafting of scoping (information-gathering) exercises on a number of countries and organisations for future potential Maltese collaboration with them- Compilation of data and drafting of statistics for funding programme post-mortems- Drafting surveys for public engagement

- Liaising daily with clients on the phone and via email- Responsible for directing specific waste to particular facilities according to European Waste Catalogue codes- Ensuring leachability analyses for landfill are compliant- Managing a team of waste inspectors from different backgrounds- Responsible for evaluating inspection reports, issuing warning letters and/or penalties to non-compliant waste carriers- Issuing Certificates of Destruction- Compiling regular reports for management and third parties- Implementing important projects for management, e.g. the National Waste Acceptance Matrix and the Civic Amenity Site Operations Manual- Other tasks as required, e.g. hosting foreign EU delegates as a Liaison Officer on behalf of the Ministry for Sustainable Development, Environment & Climate Change (MSDEC)
