Hostler Burrows is a design gallery founded in 1998 by Juliet Burrows and Kim Hostler. Initially dedicated solely to Nordic design and decorative arts, the gallery has expanded its program and now integrates a full roster of contemporary artists, both established and emerging, with historical works. While international in scope, the gallery’s primary focus remains in Scandinavia and rooted in the tradition of studio ceramics, particularly work by female artists.The gallery is devoted to exhibiting work imbued with the qualities from which it has drawn inspiration since its beginnings - craftsmanship, intention, and integrity. Lademoen Kunstnerverksteder (LKV) is housed in a former school building from 1906, near the centre of Trondheim. In 1996 LKV established a residency program to facilitate international mobility and collaboration opportunities with the local art scene. LKV also runs an experimental art space, Babel, which gives our guest artists an opportunity to present themselves and their work.An exhibition at Babel will be presented on August 18-31, alongside an exhibition by Shanta Rao.

In partnership with Kadist Art Foundation, SFAI annually awards a nine-month fellowship to a graduating MA or MFA student with an interest in curatorial practice. The inaugural fellow, Christopher Squier (MFA, 2015), will provide integral support to artist-in-residence Mariana Castillo Deball and both organizations, leading to a Spring 2016 commission of new work and a group exhibition curated by Deball. The annual award provides a pivotal platform for ambitious young curators in the crucial transition between their graduation and the launch of a curatorial career.
