Insignia Federal Group is a contracting company working in support of the Defense Health Agency within the Department of Defense. As a program assistant, I worked within the epicenter of the Defense Health Agency Headquarters, managing all types of information distributed throughout DHHQ. Taking on projects both long and short term that were essential to the day to day activity within the DHHQ.

As an assistant coach it was my duty to provide ice hockey goalies with shots on net so they would be able to practice, refine and correct the techniques that the head goalie coach had instructed. Being involved with young goalies and hockey players alike allowed me to serve as a mentor to many young hockey players in the tri-stare area.

As a head counselor of a hockey camp it was my responsibility to oversee the well-being of my campers and staff. Each day I had to prepare and delegate responsibilities to my coaches ensuring a successful day of on and off ice sessions. It was imperative that I maintained order of the 40 campers who ranged anywhere from 5 years of age to 18 years of age. Along with the on-site duties, I also had to coordinate the administrative tasks for the camp as well including staffing, marketing and camper sign-ups. This experience challenged me daily in skills ranging from organizational skills to time management skills and even interpersonal skills.

Bridgeport, Connecticut

As a Financial Crime Division intern I was able to ride along with the detectives as they interviewed witnesses and victims of financial crime. I was able to learn and understand the process detectives take dealing with financial crime, as it differs from violent crime. I was also given the opportunity to witness and be a part of a multi-agency mail fraud case which called upon the aid of the United States Postal Inspection Service and the United States Secret Service. Additionally, I was able to spend a day with the Bridgeport Police Marine Division and Patrol Division and see the tools they are able to utilize in doing their part within the Bridgeport Police Department.

New Haven, Connecticut

As an intern I attempted to soak up as much information as possible during my time spent with the United States Marshals Service through shadowing deputy marshals. I was able to do a lot of administrative duties including filing sensitive documents and entering government issued vehicle information into databases. Through these tasks, I was given the opportunity to not only work on my Microsoft Suite skills, but also learn how a federal law enforcement computer system runs. Although I was not allowed to be within a certain distance of an unshackled prisoners, once the prisoners were in handcuffs I was able to escort them, along with the deputies, to and from court. During this process I learned how to interact with both uncooperative and cooperative prisoners.

As a sales floor associate it was my job to ensure the satisfaction of the customers. Each time I approached a potential customer I made sure to find out what it was they were shopping for and whether or not I could assist them in any way. It was my goal to leave each and every customer feeling satisfied regarding their time shopping in The Sports Authority. I made sure to always go above and beyond the expectation of each customer by providing excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
