Chris Standlee is the Vice President of Legal Affairs for ICM, Inc., a 21 year old privately-held company dedicated to improving multiple aspects of biofuels technology. Previously, Mr. Standlee was Executive Vice President of Global Affairs for Abengoa Bioenergy, a technology developer which was then one of the largest international producers of ethanol, operating sixteen production facilities in the United States, Europe, and Brazil. Mr. Standlee was hired as Vice President and General Counsel of the NASDAQ public company High Plains Corporation in 1995 and worked in that capacity until High Plains was acquired by Abengoa, S.A. in 2002. He served as VP and General Counsel, and also held operational responsibility within ABUS until 2010 when his primary responsibility shifted to institutional relationships and governmental affairs. He recently served as Chairman of the Board of the Biotechnology Innovation Organization's Industrial and Environmental Section, and is a past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Renewable Fuels Association, and past President of both the Kansas and Nebraska state ethanol producer associations. Mr. Standlee received his undergraduate degree from Yale University in Political Science, and his Juris Doctorate from Kansas University, and maintained a private business law practice for approximately 18 years before joining High Plains Corporation.
