We're supposedly in the age of Big Data. Unfortunately data "plumbing"​ is much easier to do than data semantics. Each new paradigm - data warehousing, cloud computing, ... - is an excuse to gather and store more and more data. Whether you've got 10MB or 10 Petabytes, though, its what your data MEANS for you and your organisation that counts. In that sense, size really doesn't matter that much! What's much more important is data "depth"​. Your data should be a proxy for what your organisation is and does. Your organisation, like any other collection of people, is complex and dynamic. It also learns and adapts. Its not simple and static. If that's so, so should your data be complex and dynamic; and if that's so, if you're going to model that data and discover really what's going on in your organisation and its environment you need to be able to model Complex Adaptive Systems. I have over 25 years experience in modelling Complex Adaptive Systems, taking advantage of cutting-edge academic research to model big, deep data, with many successful real-world model implementations in multiple areas - finance, education, healthcare, politics, customer lifecycle, leadership training, marketing, complex and tropical diseases and many others. I direct a highly qualified research team of Ph.D and Masters level researchers working with a proprietary custom-built research platform.
