Christopher Stott, J.D. Email and Phone Number
I initially wanted to have a career in concert piano and music composition. While still continuing to pursue those endeavors, I served as a legislative assistant working in both chambers of the Maryland General Assembly. This work laid the groundwork for a decision to attend law school. From August 2011 through July of 2015, I attended the Charlotte School of Law in Charlotte, North Carolina. During my summers home and upon graduation from law school, I clerked at a general practice law office which concentrated on worker’s compensation law. I learned a lot during my tenure there and still consider the attorney I worked with a mentor. Following this, I worked for two other law firms in Maryland concentrating on personal injury claims. In August of 2019, through the contractor known as Amentum, I became employed as a paralegal specialist with the United States Department of Justice. While the title refers to myself as “paralegal specialist,” my duties and responsibilities were more akin to that of a law clerk. During my tenure there, I drafted legal memoranda and letters, legal pleadings, motions, and conducted correspondence with various government agencies of the United States . I also conducted legal research utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, Pacer, and other legal databases. In May of 2023, I began work as law clerk with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. During my tenure here I utilized such programs as Sharepoint and HotDocs in drafting legal pleadings.
