The incumbent is a member of the cross functional Pipeline Operations team that interacts with representatives from Gas Control, Supplemental Gas, System Planning, Engineering, SCADA, Engineering Project Management, Integrity Management, Gas Supply, Sales, and Marketing to develop and execute the daily operational plan for transmission and distribution assets at the company. The incumbent has the responsibility for updating, maintaining and administrating the Control Room Management Program for both the 49 CFR Parts 192 Natural Gas Pipelines and 195 Liquids Pipelines to ensure the company is complaint with federal, state and local requirements in Duke Energy’s six state service territories. Nature and Scope: This position, through understanding of control room operations, will facilitate safe pipeline operations and compliance with federal and state control room management regulations through the application of the Duke Energy NGBU Gas Control Room Management Program (CRM Program).

• Complete daily surveillances throughout the plant, which consists of inspecting electrical transmission and distribution equipment including transformer operations, field operations, grounding practices, circuit breaker mechanics, and operating valves and equipment in a 1100MW Westinghouse four loop pressurized water reactor• Respond immediately to any system abnormalities, diagnose, recommend or take thorough corrective action• Report in detail on system and component status using the rounds process (temperatures, pressures, flow rates, delta pressures, equipment status) throughout the plant to keep supervision updated on plant conditions• Monitor and operate boilers, turbines, and auxiliary power plant equipment as well as documenting any malfunctions of plant equipment and reporting it directly to supervision• Operate plant equipment as directed by supervision and plant procedures• Simulate safe shutdown and emergency based scenarios• Serve as a member of fire brigade while being respirator qualified• Utilize Passport and PCRS computer programs to thoroughly document and report plant deficiencies• Work outages with various teams ranging from electrical, water, NSSS, and balance of plant• Train and supervise new team members to ensure that they comply with all company and organizational rules and regulations as well as OSHA standards• Ensure that all work functions within the plant are in compliance with safety procedures, OSHA laws, and general environmental instructions• Enforce good housekeeping practices for equipment and work areas• Complete re-qualification training every five weeks of rotating schedule
