Exploring the role of ApoE genotype in neurogenesis in the adult hippocampus.

Conducting scientific research in the field of Alzheimer's Disease. Our group focuses on the intracellular processing of amyloid precursor protein (APP) and its vesicular trafficking routes.

Conducted research in the laboratory of Dr. Barbara Schreiber. Worked to publish results from my dissertaion.

Conducted research to complete my dissertation in the area of cardiovascular disease biology. In particular we are examined the effect of the acute phase protein serum amyloid A on vascular smooth muscle cell gene expression and cholesterol metabolism.

Developed and implemented a mouse model of atherosclerosis used by members of our cardiovascular program project. I was responsible for mouse surgery and care, tissue harvesting and histological analysis. This work led to 3 publications (see website http://people.bu.edu/cps1).

Organized and taught “Cell Culture Techniques” for Boston University’s City Lab program, an academic and laboratory skills training program.
