Moving back to my home store I retained all the responsibilities from my previous role, with the added benefit of an extremely experienced management team from which to learn from. In this role I further developed my visual merchandising skills, with emphasis on large season changes to the store. I also focused on developing my management skills by further advocating open communication between all staff and being personally responsible for setting a positive mood among staff on a daily basis. I retained the sub-role of Local Marketing Representative for the store. This involved recruiting new local affiliates for the store whilst also carefully managing existing ones, with the aim of promoting a positive store image and generating business to business sales for the store.

Supervising in retail is a fast-paced and challenging role, which combines customer service and management. In this role, I was responsible for maintaining and promoting maximum store efficiency and profitability. The store ran with up to 12 members of staff during its busiest periods. Amongst many tasks, I cashed up, gave morning briefs, discussed KPIs and targets with management and motivated our team to meet these targets. I was at the forefront of making positive changes to the store, including advocating frequent management meetings; open communication between management and also with sales assistants; the thorough training of staff in customer service; the replacement of old and inefficient working practices with clearer and more efficient systems. For a period of 3 months I was also personally responsible for store administration, and for another 3 months I was responsible for the store's local marketing.
