San AdministratorLexington Medical Center Jan 2017 - Jan 2023Columbia, South Carolina AreaI have saved Lexington Medical Center between 8-10 million dollars by introducing them to Pure Storage and Qumulo arrays. We have started to replace "other" vendors hardware and software with arrays that do not require fork lift upgrades. We have greatly reduced the maintenance cost. We have reduced down times and have better service levels. By cleaning up the older Isilon arrays I have prolonged the life and use of these arrays until they are replaced with Qumulo arrays. • Support over two petabyte of storage on various EMC and Purestorage arrays to support Epic, Peoplesoft and various applications in two data centers.• Created over fifteen thousand quotas on Isilon to show file/folder usage and helped clean up these arrays. Uncovered over 50tb of storage that was not needed and subsequently purged. Created various metrics to help management understand usage, capacity and performance on the Isilons. Working to rsync various files/folders to archive arrays in order to continue to improve performance and allow for organic growth.• Worked with Epic vendor to create, test and implement Unix file purge script in work and temp directories to clean up the Unix Epic landscape. Cleaned up in excess 1 tb of old storage Assisted in configuration of development and disaster recovery test beds for Epic. Reduced the Epic Avamar/Data Domain backup of 5TB by multi- hreading and command line execution of scripts on AIX. This met Epic qualifications for more Honor Roll refunds.• Created korn shell scripting to reduce the amount of time and space it takes to Epic refresh non production instances. Leveraged XtremIO snapshot technology to create full size production instances with new names in non-production environment. • Installed VIPR SRM and created reports for all arrays, servers, and applications to assist in Capacity Planning. -
San Administrator/Team LeadHp Jan 2010 - Nov 2016Greater Atlanta AreaFollowing the outsourcing of Coca-Cola’s computer operations to HP, I performed Data Center Migrations utilizing the EMC tools VPLEX and Recover Point to move two data centers with over two petabytes of storage and over four hundred physical servers to two new datacenters.• Worked with the client The Coca Cola Company to formulate needs and plan the orderly migration of mission critical SAP servers and non-mission critical systems to HP/Tulsa datacenter. • Created scripts to enable and disable consistency groups on Recover Point to ensure quick easy Disaster Recovery drills. • Maintained and upgraded provision to two Recover Point Clusters that span two datacenters.• Educated/mentored off shore resources and current storage team to assist in the day to day tasks of thin device creation, disk binding, zoning of servers, disk pool creation and FAST policy implementation.• Performed trouble shooting of problems and issues with cabling, zoning, allocations, data migration on Wintel and AIX servers.• Created scripts to run with Unix Crontab to grab data for input to capacity planning charts and graphs for VMAX, VNX and NetApp that was used to keep client informed of usage and projected growth. • Opened Change Controls for hardware and software upgrades in the SAN environment. • Vendor coordination, communication and scheduling across multiple data centers to ensure all changes, upgrades and equipment in working order to meet SLA and SLO as defined by The Coca-Cola Co. -
Systems Support Specialist VThe Coca-Cola Company Sep 1994 - Dec 2009Greater Atlanta AreaPerformed daily Storage Area Network (SAN) administration and operation for UNIX, MS Windows, VMware and Linux environments. • Routinely allocated 8-10 TB of disks on a monthly basis.• Allocated storage to currently attached hosts and attach new hosts to SAN as needed. Supported customers by trouble shooting and resolving cabling, port, HBA issues and zoning problems.• Performed monitoring and tuning services to achieve optimum level of storage performance.• Managed SAN software levels and perform upgrades as needed on UNIX servers. • Supported migration from Symmetrix series to DMX hardware.• Assisted in getting bids for asset disposal and removal of hardware from computer rooms
