As the part time project coordinator I lead a dedicated detached youth work team to promote and develop the principles of youth empowerment within the aims of the project.My duties include the following:Lead, co-ordinate and deliver detached youth work within Castlemilk including the staff team, resources and youth work projects, in response to community needs and work in partnership with other services.Supervise and direct the work of the detached youth work team. Liaise with other youth work providers and community representatives to maximise the benefits available to young people.Enable excluded and vulnerable young people to raise issues and develop projects, which articulate their needs within Castlemilk.Encourage young people to play a full and active part in the life of Castlemilk and support their involvement in community life on a variety of levels.Maintain a record of work, prepare reports.Manage budgets and project spendIdentify and source potential funding.Recruits, support and train staff and volunteers.

Barnardo’s Safer Choices service provides independent support to children and young people under the age of 18 who may be experiencing a crisis and are frequenting Glasgow city centre, including young people who may have run away from their family home or residential care, who are or at risk of being exploited, particularly through sexual exploitation.

The main purpose of this post is to provide support into employment for learners with learning disabilities, developing a professional relationship with each learner and their family whilst establishing a good understanding of the learner’s aspirations, skills, knowledge and confidence needs
