Although I have worked in many roles prior, my professional career began at Mercedes-Benz Financial Services as a Credit Analyst and financial underwriter. My time in this role gave me a great opportunity to understand key financial and business drivers for success. At Mercedes I was able to secure a position in the Commercial Finance team where I was not only able to develop my knowledge and understanding but also establish the key skills to support and help drive business efficiencies and optimise cost-benefit decisions. The exact role I played in the Commercial Finance team consisted of largely supporting Mercedes-Benz Financial Services directors and senior management, however the main function was acting as a Business Partner committed to Daimler Insurance Services UK Ltd where I reported directly into the Managing Director, aiding across a multitude of business activities and critical decisions. My most recent move to Nampak Plastics Europe Ltd offered a similar role with potentially greater opportunity for business change, also being part of a smaller team, would offer a greater scope of experience in various different business functions. In addition to this a completely contrasting industry, manufacturing as a pose to financial services, provided a unique opportunity for me to expand my breadth of understanding and application of practices in different business environments. The foundation knowledge to begin this career was achieved at University where I achieved a first-class honours degree in Finance and Business. I have continued to align my education with the progress in my career by engaging further education beyond university. My main focus remains on completing the Chartered Institute of Management Accounting (CIMA) qualification, which I am currently part qualified. Although some may regard this as a significant level of education once completed, I would enjoy advancing even further as I progress in the future.
