Born and raised on a dairy farm in rural Ontario, I completed my BSc Engineering at Queens University before flying to Africa for 3 months. Instead of spending 3 months I stayed for 30 years, returning to Canada in 2019 to join Edward Jones as a Financial Advisor.Post graduate qualifications in engineering combines with studies in law, philosophy, mathematics, and photography to round me out as an individual and give me a unique perspective on life and investing. Having lived on 3 continents and worked with a diverse range of cultures, I relate easily to people from all walks of life. I enjoy the diversity.I believe it’s important to talk frequently and honestly with my clients to understand what drives them. With our financial and personal needs changing naturally over time, ongoing contact is essential to avoid having just a snapshot of a clients life. Linking an individuals current financial situation to them reaching their long term goals is a part of my job that I specifically enjoy. Investor education is important to me, and when appropriate I take on the role of 'teacher' to explain financial concepts to anybody that wants or needs it. Due to my life experience educating the youth and under-privileged is an issue close to my heart.
