I led data analysis responsive to the institutional data reporting needs of SCTCC. This included analysis and reporting for internal clients, state, federal and MnSCU system reports, and various accrediting agencies. In collaboration with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and other units I helped determine progress on SCTCC's institutional and program goals, including those related to the assessment of student learning. I worked to promote evidence-based decision-making to improve institutional effectiveness and inclusion and interact regularly across SCTCC to understand research needs and to determine how Institutional Research can assist in improving decision making through the use of data. Working in the Department of Forest Resources I was involved in two research projects as a research associate/research analyst:"Alternative futures for the American Residential Macrosystem" is an NSF funded project that examines drivers of and constraints on change to residential landscapes. My role is to analyze existing quantitative and qualitative data and conduct interviews in order to identify and understand drivers of change vs. stabilizing factors in yard management. In particular I focus on homeowner motivations and perceptions of institutional opportunities, constraints and effectiveness, and adaptive strategies."Validating, refining, and encouraging the implementation of honey bee Best Management Practices to improve colony health" is a NIFA funded project examining bee colony management and ways to disseminate best practices. For this project I help design survey instruments and interview guides and will use these tools to collect data about beekeeper social networks and their personal motivations and individual cognitive factors related to adoption of BMPs.

Community Soil Conservationist in Tulsipur, Dang district. Worked in and adapted to unfamiliar foreign culture with people of diverse backgrounds. Assisted government District Soil Conservation Office (DSCO) in planning. Wrote and submitted successful grant application for US/AID funding of 60,000 rupees. Coordinated a micro-enterprise project involving 119 households, the DSCO and the implementation team of a USAID project. Advised on issues of watershed management, soil conservation, grazing, community development and improved inter-office coordination.
