I've worked across a number of projects, such as measuring the everyday health behaviours of children, wearable sensor methodology, and chronobiological rhythms in the EEG of patients with epilepsy. I currently work on projects combining wearable sensor methodologies with ecological momentary assessment to understand the interaction between chronobiological rhythms and mental health.

I assisted in the teaching of Java programming, neuroinformatics, dynamical systems theory, and computing environments (MySQL, SPARQL, Linux, ssh, VMs). This involved demonstrating to large groups of students, marking coursework, and delivering lectures to small groups of students.I also assisted in the supervision of MSc student projects that involved applying machine learning techniques to simulations of neuronal activity.

I worked on a project within the lab of Prof Marcus Kaiser that sought to improve current understanding of the progression of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's using computational modelling techniques. I developed a mechanistic model that described the activity dependent spread of a pathogenic protein through brain networks. This allowed us to predict how particular features of brain networks and neural dynamics would affect the spread of the pathogenic protein. This project demonstrated that I can rapidly develop MATLAB code to implement a computational model and produce informative and captivating visualisations of simulation data.

As a PhD student I undertook a 3 month internship at Alcyomics, a small biomedical start-up that provide pre-clinical testing of chemicals for immune response. In my time with Alcyomics I collected samples from NHS labs, assisted with processing these samples using microbiology techniques and helped to manage the data that we recorded from the samples.
