Pouring a small measure of Brandy, he lights a cigarette and stares at the keyboard for twenty minutes. There’s no such thing as writers block. He’d read it somewhere, or heard it at a writing group. Another small measure, another cigarette, another twenty minutes pass. Eventually, after several shots and countless cigarettes, the words flow and brain to keyboard connect. He closes the laptop with a feeling of accomplishment. The following day, void of the many small measures he reads his work, then sinks in despair. Pressing delete, he stares at the keyboard. Twenty long minutes pass. He pours himself a small measure and lights a cigarette.When he does knuckle down to writing, he sometimes actually flows.
