With a passion for agriculture and the rural world, I studied land and farm management at Harper Adams University. This was followed by a spell of time on a large arable farm in Western Australia.On my return to the UK, I trained as a rural Chartered Surveyor on The Goodwood Estate in West Sussex, combined with a post graduate course at the College of Estate Management, University of Reading.Following qualification, I joined a national firm specialising in rural estate management. After 7 enjoyable years, I joined Batcheller Monkhouse to further broaden my skills.My role is wide ranging and diverse. It includes advising clients on agricultural and environmental matters, valuation and compulsory purchase, landlord and tenant matters, residential led development schemes and estate management. As the head of the professional department at Haywards Heath, my role also involves mentoring and training other members of staff. I am an assessor for the Assessment of Professional Competence for the RICS, and a former chairman of the Sussex and adjoining Counties Agricultural Valuers Association.In my spare time, I enjoy mountain biking, walking, reading, travelling and spending time with family and friends.
