CAREER HISTORY:2011 - Royal Signals British Army Serving Installation technician within the Royal Signal serving with multiple units around the world including Germany, Romania, Netherlands and Afghanistan Kabul. Posted to 30th Signal Regiment, were I provided a supporting element deploying out on numerous Exercise across Europe. This entailed designing and planning the cable infrastructure whilst out in the field to enable fluent deployment and swift set up. Once deployed I maintained the equipment and cabling, whilst providing a reaction force to any faults that occurred dealing with them in a timely manor. Within the unit itself, I was responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the camps infrastructure and expansion. Including planning new projects, regular maintenance and keeping a faults record so that the unit could function correctly. Whilst posted to 1NATO Signal Battalion Deployable Communications Module-D, I deployed to various locations one being Kabul, Afghanistan. Whilst on tour to Afghanistan I was assigned to the job role of NHKIA service desk. Where we use the ticketing system BMC Service desk to manage NHKIA’s faults issues, account HOTO’s, Account creations, Procurement of high and low cost items etc. Also as SATCOM (DART,VSAT,DSGT) trained personnel ready and prepared to deploy on EAPS. Deploying to Locations within Afghanistan to support MINI POP, IMPAC systems as well as providing a maintenance element ensuring servers, modems, SAT systems are functional for the users requiring terminals. Whilst back in the UK we have been on notice to move for NATO reaction force which could take place anywhere within the world.
