My current role is working as the Mechanical Shift Engineer within the Engineering Department Team. Currently working for a Pharmaceutical Packaging Manufacturer, providing Engineering Support to Extrusion, Coating Laminating and Slitting Machinery. The Main Responsibilities are to carry out first call engineering response to the Factories Manufacturing Machinery, Building facilities and Auxiliary Plant Equipment. The Roll requires me to also have detailed knowledge of the Factories Building Management Systems and to be that first call response to this equipment/services, ensuring minimum interruption to Manufacturing Schedules. I have the capability of procuring spares and services, liaising with on and off site contractors in providing quotes for work and then processing this to completion. I am a mechanically bias technician but have crossover functionality knowledge in instrumentation and have the ability to carry out calibrations, functional testing and routine maintenance schedules.

The key responsibilities of the role include planning,scheduling and priorities of engineering maintenance work of all production equipment,and prompt fault finding/diagnosis followed by identifying continuous improvement initiatives.In addition to this the role required me to be a Forward Controller in the site Emergency Response Organisation. The role of the Forward Controller is to direct the First Line of Response team in fire fighting, snatch rescue and spillage response in co-ordination with the Fire Services.
