LTC (R) Christopher A. Tompkins currently serves as the Director of the Military Affairs Program / Military Science Lecturer as the Professor of Military Science in the ROTC Department. The core of my duties is responsible for matriculating support services, recruitment, and retention of all students in the PBA Reserve Officers Training Corps program. Primary Military Science Instructor and liaison for PBA ROTC courses with Professor of Military Science (PMS Senior ROTC Officer) regional commander. Manages and monitors compliance with US Army Cadet Command (USACC) regulations as it pertains to all military student instructional requirements for commissioning. Prior experience includes seven years as a US Army JROTC Senior Army Instructor and an ROTC Military Science Senior Army Instructor at the University of South Florida.Throughout his extensive military career, LTC (R) Tompkins held significant positions, notably as the TRADOC Deputy Protection Chief/Operations Chief in the G34 - Protection Directorate. He excelled in providing strategic vision and staff supervision while serving as the subject matter expert on Protection/Provost Marshal Corps-related operations, addressing crucial policies on physical security, antiterrorism, and force protection across all TRADOC installations.LTC (R) Tompkins embarked on his military journey after being commissioned as a Second Lieutenant from Officer Candidate School at Ft. Benning in 1987. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Economics from North Carolina A&T State University in 1983, followed by a master’s degree in leadership, Supervision, and Administration from George Washington University in 2003. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Policy, Leadership, and Management, he has received numerous accolades, including the Bronze Star Medal and the Military Police "Order of the Marechaussee" Top Award for Military Police Officers. Proudly from Washington, DC, LTC (R) Tompkins and his wife have a family of seven grown adult children and six grandchildren.
