I recently retired as a partner at BDO USA, leaving my position as the Sustainability and ESG Strategy and Services Leader.In my most recent role at BDO, I was a member of BDO USA’s Executive Team, a group of senior leaders reporting to the CEO, responsible for helping determine and communicate the Firm’s strategic priorities and key opportunities and I was responsible for the delivery of ESG and sustainability services to our clients, as well as oversight of our firm’s ESG strategies, integrating sustainable business policies and practices into BDO’s corporate culture and everyday operations.My background includes 40 years of public accounting experience, including client-facing service delivery, practice operational oversight, and audit quality and professional practice oversight. I’ve provided audit, other attest services and a variety of consulting services to a diverse mix of privately and publicly held clients across an array of industries. Prior to my Sustainability Leader role at BDO, I served as BDO’s National Managing Partner for Audit Quality and Professional Practice, overseeing our audit methodology, accounting and audit consultation functions, SEC services, global services, quality management, independence and risk management. Prior to that, I served as BDO’s West Regional Managing Partner, overseeing audit and other attestation operations. I’ve also served on BDO’s Board of Directors and chaired BDO’s Audit Quality Committee and BDO’s Assurance Committee. In my retirement from BDO, I plan to use my professional experience to help nonprofits (NGO’s) address operational, internal control and finance related opportunities, supporting senior management teams in their focus on executing the institutional core mission and improve sustainability and ESG performance.COMMUNITY AND PHILANTHROPIC INVOLVEMENTI am an active member and personal supporter of numerous non-profits whose missions include environmental advocacy and conservationism, and arts, social and wellness causes. I am currently a Board Trustee and Executive Committee Member of the Pacific Symphony of Orange County. I previously served as a director for the Laguna College of Art and Design, the Wellness Communities of Orange County, Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays, the Friendship Shelter and other organizations.
