About Christopher Ulicne

Now a 14-year veteran of the news industry, I started on the ground floor as a paginator, beat reporter and photographer. I rose through the ranks by taking on leadership roles, first as an assistant editor for the Latrobe Bulletin, a historic, century-old daily newspaper in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, and later as the editor of the Bulletin’s sister publication, the Ligonier Echo, in nearby Ligonier. In early 2020, the longtime editorial director at the Bulletin retired and I was asked to step in and guide the team. After a year and a half of leading the Bulletin newsroom, I was officially named its top editor in the fall of 2021. Looking for an opportunity to continue my career growth, in March 2022 I took a position as a designer with Lee Enterprises, a national leader in providing local news content that publishes approximately 350 weekly and specialty publications serving dozens of markets across more than half of the U.S. Not long after, in November 2022, I accepted an offer from management to join Lee's Finishing Desk team as an editor.
