Essential functions Manage the planning, design and execution of major higher education capitalprojects by providing project leadership, communication, coordination and conflict resolution toensure project goals are met. Project portfolio: Typically 1-3 active projects with an average totalvalue of 50 Million or more. Support institutions in pre-project planning activities, including CapitalImprovement Plan preparation and Board of Regent and Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board submittals and approval processes. Manage project from initiation through completion ofconstruction. Responsible for project budget, schedule, and procurement of design and constructionservices.Current Project that I am working on is the Dell School of Medicine for University of Texas. The site is next door to the "Super Drum" (where they play basketball). Scheduled to open in July 2016. First cohort of medical students show up for fall 2016 semester.

In today’s environment, a good design will precisely define the acceptable project parameters; this becomes the “box”. Using these parameters of the “box” a good designer must then be able to develop a series of possible scenarios that will allow for both a flexible and agile solution that can flex/evolve with the changing face of healthcare.
