Served as a high level network technician, responsible for maintaining continuous, uninterrupted availability of over twenty data centers. Utilized tools such as Spectrum, Cacti, and Splunk to diagnose and resolve a variety of network issues. Common issues included: LAN/WAN connectivity, DMVPN tunnels, OSPF and BGP routing, investigating and resolving SNMP alarms, Firewall configuration (Sidewinder, SRX, Netscreen, and ASA), Load Balancer configuration (F5/CSS/ACE/Stingray), backside server connectivity. Trained contractor and government civilian new hires on the various DISA network architectures, traffic flows, and concepts currently in use (VRFs, fabricpath, forward/reverse proxies, SSL offload, etc)Provided extremely time-sensitive network support for DoD Enterprise Email (DEE) supporting 1.9 million users. Provided after action reports to senior leadership explaining the cause, and resolution of the outage.Worked with DoD mission partners to troubleshoot and modify various web based applications. Routine tasks included DNS modification, load balancer configuration, troubleshooting / modifying firewall rules, and correcting IP address/subnet mask & route table issues on backside servers. Provided support for multiple time-sensitive COOP projects. Coordinated conference calls, identified existing application configuration (Virtual server / backside server configuration, firewall rules, DNS entries, etc), migrated the application to a separate data center, and provided network support while customers/system administrators tested COOP functionality.Responsible for SSL certificate maintenance for over five thousand URLs (SSL offload) in the DISA network. Tasks included creating Certificate Signing Requests (CSR), coordinating with Certificate Authorities (CA) to retrieve certificates, and installing/testing certificates on a variety of devices (Bluecoat, Stingray, F5, etc).

Responsible for the management of the Air Force virtual private network (AFVPN) in a 24x7 network operations center (NOC). This involved monitoring and maintaining a fully meshed IPSEC over GRE VPN with over 100 sites and 200 service delivery point (SDP) routers. Performed maintenance on both the LAN and WAN network equipment to include Cisco 2500, 7200, and 7600 series routers and 3500, 3600 and 6500 series switches. Configured and troubleshot routing protocols such as BGP, and EIGRP. Utilized tools such as Smarts InCharge and Spectrum to monitor the networks and make configuration changes when needed. Also maintained the AF SIPRNET (secure network) which includes over 300 SDPs and link encryption devices such as KIV-7Ms and TACLANEs.

Responsible for overseeing the Air Force Network Operations Center (AFNOC) mid and swing shifts. This involved coordinating circuit outages between Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and the Integrated Network Operations and Security Center (INOSC west/east). Prepared daily power point briefings for AFCYBER leadership – required extreme attention to detail.

Maintained and administrated the Spangdahlem Air Force Base SIPRNET and NIPRNET networks. This involved configuring and maintaining servers, creating and maintaining user accounts, and working closely with the wing client support administrators to troubleshoot a variety of user issues. Also worked as a messaging technician prior to being reassigned to the system administrator team. This involved troubleshooting Microsoft Exchange 2003, configuring and maintaining two Blackberry Enterprise Servers, and providing direct in-office Blackberry support for wing and group level officers.

Worked closely with government contractors to support the Theater Battle Management Core System (TBMCS) program. This involved opening remedy tickets, coordinating communications between contractors and customers, and installing TBMCS in a Unix lab environment for troubleshooting. Provided system administrator support for multiple joint service TBMCS exercises. This involved imaging machines with Symantec Ghost to prepare the test environment, and providing user level system administrator support.
