Involved with the growth of a young company main duties are training new employees laboratory techniques, processing extremely high volumes of work ensuring deadlines are met and troubleshooting issues for base metals, ferroalloys, precious metals and non routine analysis.

Floated between labs when required. Assisted running the ICP and Platinum Group Metals departments including preparation and distribution of work and keeping the ICP/AAS stock solutions maintained. Developed in-house methods for other departments within the Stewart group, via previous experience and knowledge of certain materials.

Performing basic laboratory techniques.Furnace room supervisor, organising daily routines.Organised the day to day running of a laboratory, this included meeting deadlines and training junior members of staff.Run a small department, ‘Dore Bullion’ section, meeting deadlines, troubleshooting and was accountable for releasing work/results to the Laboratory Manager. As the department grew I trained and managed staff to ensure the section ran effectively.A supporting role to Laboratory head and deputy, I organised purchase orders, undertook more complex analysis and managed assay throughput; from trial analysis to the main assay. I also handled any problems that arose within the department, from assays being weighed, dissolution of samples, Fire Assay, parting area and results being reported on the assay card as well as undertaking the training of all staff within the department.I changed department to work a long side most senior chemists and Chief Chemist. My main role was the analysis of Ferro alloys and non-routine analysis that were sent to the laboratory. I also organised part of the laboratory and undertook the training within it. The laboratory also had a UKAS accreditation.
