I have been a freelance writer, biographer and commentator on matters royal for many years now. To date, I have taken part in over 30 television documentaries as contributor and on occasion consultant and continue to be asked to take part in documentaries, television and radio programmes, as well as news agency interviews, as an authoritative voice. Among the 14 books I have written are the authorized biography of Princess Margaret, whose active co-operation I had throughout; Her Majesty, Taschen's tri-lingual art book celebrating the Queen's life and reign; The Times best-selling George and Marina, Duke and Duchess of Kent; The Life and Death of Ella Grand Duchess of Russia; Queen Mary's Photograph Albums; King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, and Abdication. I also wrote The Universal Ustinov, a biography of Sir Peter Ustinov, writer, Oscar-winning actor, dramatist, raconteur and UNICEF goodwill ambassador. I have worked as publicity writer on several film and television productions and before taking up a writing career, worked in the editorial department of the publishers Weidenfeld & Nicolson. Prior to that, I was personal assistant to the managing director of the celebrated film and theatre agents then known as Fraser and Dunlop. A former consultant editor of Majesty magazine, I have given talks on royal themes for, among others, Historic Royal Palaces, Cunard, the Windsor Festival, Alison Weir Tours and St Alban's Cathedral.
